I want to be like water. Water ebbs and flows. It has high times and low, but weathers it all unscathed. I want to be like water, able to dissipate disturbance and return to calmness.
Water is blissful, smooth, flowing, strong, peaceful, cleansing, calming, powerful, and nourishing—all qualities I desire. I admit water has one attribute I don’t want. Water is necessary for all living things; it has power over life and death. I don’t want to be that needed or powerful.
Water can be a warm bath to wash away stress. It can be the stream whose soothing noise helps you to sleep. Water even symbolically washes away sins. Water is sustaining, intense, and invigorating. Although it is sometimes feared, it is seldom hated.
I want to be like water.
